When a small company starts making progress, it needs money to make further investment. For collecting the required money a company usually has to take loan from the financial institutions or it has to sell its inventory. The benefits of floating shares are that unlike taking loan from banks companies do not need to provide collateral. Moreover, the banks or financial institutions impose certain restrictions that some times make it difficult for the companies to use the money in a free way.

Biggest benefit of floating shares is that the company does not have to pay the money back rather it would have to pay a fraction of the profit to the investors that would buy its shares. If the company performs well in the business, it automatically means that the risk factor associated to its shares would be reduced and the investors in its shares would be getting higher profits.

This kind of positive perception about the company would increase the prices of the shares that it has floated in the stock market. As the value of the shares would increase, it would become easier for the company to gather needed amount of money in the future. When the company is financially stable, now it entirely depends upon its own choice that is either to continue with sharing profits with its share holders or simply buy back its shares from the market and become the completer owner of the profits of the company.
